Jemima&Ash Wedding | The Hall Barns at Preswold

Jem&Ash are a force! A radiant, fun and captivating force, one you take back with you after experiencing it, you know the kind, like that smell on the pavement after the hot summer’s rain. You can’t quite put your finger on it because it’s unique, but you know something’s up. 

I first met Jem&Ash at their elopement photoshoot in Melbourne, Derbyshire where we took the advantage of an early spring’s sunset to start telling a story that would develop and lead into their wedding day, which was an absolute blast! 

They decided to tie the knot at one of the most rustic and vibe-full venues I’ve had the opportunity to photograph this wedding season, The Hall Barns at Prestwold. I found the area to be truly magical with the church nested in the nearby woodland particularly fairytale-like. It’s the simple and fleeting moments that sometimes carry the power, the force and the memory, and it was exactly that when we took a stroll back from the church (after the ceremony) back to the Barns for the wedding breakfast. Jem&Ash had just exchanged their vows, their energy was vibrant, powerful, fresh and contagious! And I go back to those moments when I look through their wedding photographs and feel that same kind of vibe. And the force I mentioned earlier.

Jem&Ash are surrounded by some of the best friends and family one can wish for and I’ve had a great time getting to know them prior to taking their portraits, in what now seems a kaleidoscope of even more fleeting and powerful moments that made this wedding photography for the day and a portal to memories people will keep. I know I will!
